Do these affect your score? Probably not. But they WILL influence a creditor/lender/landlord’s thoughts about you as a prospective tenant.
Of course, you can always write a note about the situation back then, and how that was an isolated incident, and your work history is better now, better job now, etc. Any landlord that NEEDS to rent that unit will like to hear the back story.

It is removed 7 years after you pay it, otherwise it just hangs in there, warning other landlords of your intentions.

First you have to pay it and then it seven years it will no longer show up.
