i have 2 visa credit cards that i have had for a few years.my credit score is very good and i would like it to stay that way.would it effect my credit score in a negative way if i got rid of the 2 cards and went with one with a lower apr thats offering me a higher credit limit than the 2 put together?
I currently have my auto loan with GMAC and would like to refinance. I have tried Suntrust, Wells Fargo, Orlando Federal Credit Union and have been turned down by all. I have a credit score in the 600 range. My current APR is 8.5 and monthly payments are 245.84. I’m looking for someone who won’t be so strict on either refinancing it or offering a personal loan to pay off GMAC.
Forgot to add. I owe 6,000 on it.
I have several credit cards that I have’t used in a long time. Should I close these accounts or leave them open? How will it affect my credit score?
My husband and I are interested in buying a home but we would like to consolidate our credit cards to make things easier. I heard this can damage our credit score, then we won’t be able to buy a home when we are ready.
I was financed with bi-monthly payments of 9 and an intrest rate of 29%. I was told that if I focus on making these payments on time, it can actually improve my credit score. Then if I can save, say, another ,000 to put down later and then refi, that could also change the high intrest rate and improve my score even more?
My credit is horrible… I’m working on fixing that now. Buying a clunker is not an option. Seeking answers from financial professionals.
